About Wayne E. Swift, Junior, MAI, SRA, Ohio Certified General Appraiser

Wayne E. Swift. Jr. has been actively involved in the real estate appraisal field for over thirty years. He is a "hands on" real estate appraiser, who believes in thoroughness, ethical behavior and returning to clients in a timely manner. He founded W. E. Swift & Company in 1987 to provide high-quality real estate appraisal, valuation, and consultation services for commercial and residential real estate in Columbus, Central Ohio and throughout the state of Ohio.

Education and Certification

Before beginning his career in the real estate appraisal field, Wayne graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Real Estate. In addition to his education, Wayne holds both the MAI and SRA appraisal designations, sponsored by The Appraisal Institute.

To hold an Appraisal Institute designation, an individual must meet rigorous education, experience and ethical requirements.  Because of the extensive requirements in obtaining the MAI or SRA designations, you will find few MAI's or SRA's under the age of 40.  Only those most committed to the profession carry one or both of these designations.

Because of his education, experience, certifications and designations, Wayne's clients know that they will benefit from the one of the most highly skilled and experienced real estate appraisal professionals in the state of Ohio.

Experience Through Personal Investment

Wayne gained critical experience through ownership of real estate.  As an investor, he understands the risk that goes with every investment property ownership.  It has made him critically aware of the concerns of property owners, such as operating and rehab costs, and vacancy and holding periods.

Personal investment experience also creates a keen awareness of real estate taxes and their affects on cash flow and property value. It is with this personal understanding that Wayne completes his real estate appraisals in an accurate and ethical manner.
